What can I say this was my first read by Amanda Lee but won't be my last.......I laughed cried and got highly passed off at Aliyyah........This was a awesome read Caleb was definitely may favorite my heart went out to Jessie overall 10* read.......
This book had me so pissed! I kept wondering why this woman wouldn't leave this damn man. It shouldn't take so many "accidents" for you to realize that you married the wrong ass. I wanted to stop reading so many times because I was just so angry. I don't even know if I wanna recommend this to anybody to get them mad!
You have to be ready for this book, when Aaliyah acted stupid I wanted to choke her for letting Jordan treat her kids the way he did, and when she would just let stuff go, I had a hard time understanding why during everything she never told anyone, but realized this happens with abuse, this book teaches you a lot, makes you think about your own life, it makes you think if you know of someone in this situation what would you do to help them. No I will not tell a lot about this book, but it is a must read.
Heartless Bastard by Amanda Lee is a difficult for me to read but it's a good read. Amanda Lee did a awesome job. The storyline is on point and it's a page turner.
I don't want to say too much for this book. My heart goes to beautiful children because they didn't deserve to be treating. Even though, they love their mother and be there for their mother but their mom is dumb f$$k. I want to say something to her but I kept my mouth shut.
I want to read more books from this author.

From the 1st page this book had me hooked. Amanda Lee what's going on in your head, lol. Jordan was straight crazy, but Aliyyah got on my nerves the entire book. I wanted to fight Jordan, Tiah, and Aliyyah just for being so naive. Saddest part is that this is truly someone's reality. So many women marry men for love and money and turn a blind eye to the abuse their kids goes through let alone the verbal and physical abuse they are subject too. There were a couple typos but it didn't take away from the story. Definitely a must read.
The sad part about this book is I know women who have dated and married men who dislike their children. My son and I are a package deal and if you don't like my child you don't like me. I would never put a man before my child. In my life it is GOD first my son and then my husband. That man was so evil and he cared not even for his own children. Some women just have to have an man in their, no matter how he treats their children. She should have left him as soon as he touched her, not waiting for him to beat her children. I felt sorry for the children not her, her job was to protect her children. She was so di--matized that she did not care what he did to her children. She also continued to leave her children alone with this animal, that showed she cared nothing for her life nor her children's. I loved Clarence because he told her I'm not leaving my kids here with this crazy man, he tried to protect his children and I like that about him. That is what a real man is supposed to do. What i realized is that no matter what you do to your children they still love their mother, because those boys loved her knowing she put their lives at risk, so she could be with him. That is really hard to understand but soo true. I really enjoyed the book, it was just sad to know their are really women like her in life. This is my first read from Amanda Lee, but it won't be my last, she did a really good job.
I cannot say about this book that I loved it. I hate the topic, that of merciless domestic violence, and this is one of the worst descriptions of that societal affliction I have ever read, fiction or not. There are so many levels of emotion, ranging from fear for children to hatred of the man, disgust for the woman, surprise at the ugliness reflected in almost all of these pages, at least as to the man named Jordan and the woman named Aaliyah. I hope there are no homes where this kind of meanness and hateful attitudes prevail but I am sad to say my hope is probably not worth much. In the end there is happiness for all the children and Aaliyah. But are there lessons learned. Somehow, based on the content I think if she found another who would act as Jordan did toward she and her childern it would not bed surprising.
